Manana Community Park & Youth Facility

Manana Community Park & Youth Facility

Pearl City, Hawaii

Completed 2002

This project for a 14-acre community park includes a youth facility building, youth soccer and softball fields and public parking lot. Restrooms for park users are located within the youth facility building. In a second phase, outdoor basketball courts, outdoor volleyball courts, a skate park and additional parking were added.

Instead of a single, bulky building, the youth facility building is composed of a series of overlapping pavilions forming an internal courtyard. The multipurpose room and lounge, the two largest spaces in the complex, overlook the playfields beyond.
